Br John Matthew Corkery RIP

The death has occurred suddenly and peacefully, on January 31 2012, of Brother John Matthew Corkery OSB, of Glenstal Abbey (Murroe, County Limerick); beloved son of Finbarr and Carmel Corkery (Rathpeacon, Cork), and dear brother of Mary, Fiona and David.

He is sadly mourned by his immediate family, his brothers-in-law, Seamus and Eoin; his sister-in-law, Mary; his nieces and nephews; the Abbot and monastic community of Glenstal; the staff, students and parents of Glenstal Abbey School and a wide circle of relatives and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Br Matthew’s remains will be reposing in the monastery reception from 3.30 pm until 5.00 pm tomorrow, Thursday 2 February, followed by removal to the Abbey Church. Funeral Mass on Friday 3 February at 11.30 am, followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery.
