Glenstal's
unique position as the only Benedictine school for boys
in Ireland, and its connection with a living monastic community,
means that the values of the Benedictine Rule inform and enliven
the life of the school. A secure and stable educational environment,
in a setting of great natural beauty, opens the heart to the
beauty of life and of the world. Benedictine respect for the
individual encourages the development of a strong character and
a sense of responsibility for oneself and others.
The
religious spirit of the school reflects the character of the monastic
way in its continuous search for God and its ecumenical openness
to people from all religious traditions. Since our vision is directed
by the teaching of Christ, and our ethos is drawn from Saint Benedict's
Rule, we believe that the whole person must be educated.
