Skellig Michael August 24th – 25th 2011

Where the three streams meet on Skellig Michael with Abbot Patrick Hederman OSB, An tAthair Seán Ó Duinn OSB and Nóirín Ní Riain.

This pilgrimage to the 7th century monastic settlement of early Irish Christian monasticism is absolutely unique and historical on many levels.

It is ‘bringing it all back home’ for the very first time in fourteen hundred years when a Benedictine Abbot, Abbot Patrick Hederman of Glenstal Abbey, his confrére, Bonaventure, An tAthair Seán Ó Duinn and a woman singer closely associated with monasticism, Nóirín Ní Riain will revisit the island, now a Unesco World Heritage site, to recreate a liturgy there in the beehive huts, perched high above the vertical cliff walls.
